Fantastic Fashion Doll Find [FEATURED COLLECTION] - By Marie Doherty

After sorting through a fantastic ex-shop stock collection, we have found some wonderful items that are guaranteed to interest any lover of the fashion doll.
Pippa the pocket sized doll was released by Palitoy during the 70's and 80's and marketed using the slogan "the pocket money fashion doll that puts fashion in your pocket". With various friends, fashions and accessories, Pippa proved to be very popular and more affordable than her main competitors, Barbie and Sindy due to her small stature.
We are delighted to be auctioning several of Pippas fantastic fashions, which are very rare to find in the original packaging, never mind the original trade box!

Pippa's first three friends, Marie, Tammie and Brit were launched in 1972, over the years more friends were added to the line up.
Here we have a couple of Pippa's original gang - Marie and Tammie, both in original boxes and so unusual to find in such lovely condition!

Amongst this collection we also spotted Sindy's mischevious little sister 'Patch'.
Patch was introduced by Pedigree Dolls in 1966 and various issues were made and sold before her retirement in 1973.
This particular doll is a super example of a second edition 'Patch', made from 1967 until 1970 with Hong Kong written on her shoulders. She has straight auburn hair in a bob and her limbs do not bend. She is an example of the minature version doll, measuring 21cm.

Last but certainly not least, we have some fantastic examples of Patch's big sister Sindy's outfits as shown below.

All of the items featured in this post will be auctioned at Aston's on Saturday 23rd March.

Hope to see a few of you there!

Scarce Timpo Puzzle Cubes [STAR LOT] - by Nell Hilditch

[STAR LOT]

Scarce Timpo Puzzle Cubes

Just discovered these Timpo Puzzle Cubes whilst sorting out our next toy sale.

The six pictures which can be created include a ship, a bus and a locomotive. Whilst we often sell puzzle cubes in our mixed lots of games, this is the first Timpo example I have ever seen!

Who know what they will make at auction?

Action Man, the Movable Fighting Man! [FEATURED COLLECTION] - by Nell Hilditch

[FEATURED COLLECTION]

Action Man, the Movable Fighting Man!

The "ex-shop stock collection" in our forthcoming 23rd March Auction includes one of the most desirable figures in the Action Man range, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. The frog, which is made of rubber, and holds the bayonet and sheath, is difficult to find because it is unique to the Argyll uniform, whilst the sporran is rarely found complete as the strap is thin and easily snapped.
Also featured is the 17th/21st Lancers Action Man - another collectors favourite - complete with hard to find pieces   such as the cord lines, and the lance and spurs which are both very delicate and easily broken.
We have a good selection of carded outfits and weaponry, including the no.34262 Bazooka on a wood-grain effect backing card:

This 'Soldiers of the World' series French Resistance Fighter Uniform has never been out of the box:

''Girls and Boys Love Palitoys''
Following the success of Action Man, Action Girl was introduced in 1971. She had a fully poseable, jointed body and came with a comic depicting her adventures as a secret agent. Here is a selection of Action Girl outfits in our forthcoming toy sale:

All of these items will be featured in our specialist toy auction on Saturday 23rd March :)

Britains Herald Swoppets - Ex-Shop Stock! [FEATURED COLLECTION] - by Nell Hilditch

[FEATURED COLLECTION]

Britains Herald Swoppets - Ex-Shop Stock!

Howdy! I have had a very exciting week cataloguing these Britains Herald Swoppets which are part of a large ex-shop stock collection in our next toy sale! The detail that goes in to them is phenomenal - from miniature swords, daggers, and guns in holster belts, to crests in the shape of animals.

We have several complete trade packs of figures, mostly from the Wild West Series in the form of mounted Cowboys and Indians, and also a selection of American Civil War figures in trade packs. Many of the figures come complete with 'I'm a Swoppet!' paper tags, and even their original complaint slips!
The picture below shows the notorious Mounted Cowboy Bank Robber...

Whilst the Swoppets were originally advertised as 'figures you can swivel and swop' which implies a durability not seen in figures of this age, 50 years on Swoppets have been known to suffer from plastic fatigue, making it very difficult to find a complete figure in a mint condition - which is why we are so excited to have this superb collection

Here is a trade pack of Wild West Series Indians, containing four sets of figures, each on their own display card:

A trade pack of #535 Indian Brave with Tomahawk Mounted figures:

A trade pack of three Britains American Civil War #420 Confederate Officer Mounted figures:

All of these items will be featured in our March 23rd 2013 Toy Auction - hopefully see you there!
